The Future of Learning

Allen + Shariff served as the Commissioning Authority during the LEED Fundamental Building Systems Commissioning process for the renovation of H.D. Woodson High School, a 230,000 square foot, 3-story school building holding 900 students.

The project was configured to provide a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning environment with four distinct learning communities including classrooms, lab rooms, and conference areas surrounding a common collaborative learning space. The project also included administrative spaces, media center cafeteria/kitchen, gymnasiums, natatorium, auditorium, health suite, staff lounge, teacher workrooms, art room, music room, various other spaces. The project was designed to achieve a LEED Gold certification under the LEED for Schools.
