Merritt Metro Police Department

Allen + Shariff provided MEP engineering services for the renovation of the Merritt Metro Police Department. The project, which was originally a $12 million, 80,000 square foot adaptive reuse DGS project. The new state-of-the-art facility, which was the site of the former Merritt Middle School, included a new Sally port, offices, gymnasium, community room and various department support space.
The first phase of the project focused on transforming the base building into the Youth Investigations Division offices and was completed in 2014. The second phase of the project built out the Sixth District headquarters and was completed in 2015.
The project achieved LEED Silver certification, which includes energy conserving design, commissioning and an integrated Energy Management System (EMS).
